In 1996, RACE (Rapid Action in Car Emergency) was established to provide on-road assistance to stranded vehicles. Despite limited technology in its early years, the organization grew steadily, expanding its services to 30 cities and assisting over 1.5 million customers with more than 1 million successful rescues by 2010.

Throughout these rescue operations, the team witnessed countless situations where lives were at risk due to unreliable emergency response services. One such incident, where a person in critical need received no response after calling the emergency helpline, highlighted the urgent need for a dependable emergency support system. These experiences inspired the creation of Rakkshak, with the mission of delivering timely emergency assistance and helping save lives.

One year later, the initiative evolved into something bigger and more comprehensive. Recognizing the need for an emergency response solution that could support people in a wide range of critical situations, the organization launched Rakkshak. Designed as a full-fledged emergency response service, Rakkshak provides fast, reliable, and comprehensive assistance to individuals facing medical and other emergencies, ensuring help reaches those who need it most.

To stay true to their vision and mission of making the world a healthier and safer place, Rakkshak evolved and launched three new services:

• RESC-U: Developed to provide reliable and timely emergency assistance (Police and Medical) , ensuring that help is always available when needed the most.
• RxPRESS: Designed to make medical tests and screenings accessible to everyone, no matter where they are.
• Health Rakkshak: Created to offer affordable healthcare solutions, addressing the rising costs of medical treatment and ensuring quality care for all.
